A Note From Sam

One of the most satisfying parts of my job is getting to know all of you! And for those who aren’t as familiar, our marketing team decided that this month’s bulletin was a good time for a little ‘get to know you’ session!

Officially, I started coming to work with Dad back in high school. I worked at the stone crushing plant during the summers, as well as drove a truck in our gravel bank. Unofficially, I’ve been around the business since before I could walk!

Some of my favorite things:

A sunny 80-degree day for a round of golf or hanging out around the yard. Quiet early mornings before the day truly begins — that’s when I’m most productive. Our dog Harley always makes me laugh! I love a good steak, but maybe not as much as a great meatball grinder. I’ve got my favorite spots all across Fairfield County — do you have any recommendations?

There are two questions from the marketing team I wanted to end with:

Who is your hero?

My dad and grandfather. Both were of the highest integrity, and I strive to follow their example.

What is the best piece of advice you ever received?

I’ve got two: Do the right thing, even if it’s unpleasant in some way. And in business, you are only as good as the people that you have working with you
